Institutions decide which tests they accept and may set minimum section scores. TOEFL changed its reporting scale in 2026, and DET/IELTS comparisons come from concordance studies with uncertainty.

Why are there two TOEFL scales?
TOEFL iBT moved to a 1–6 scale on January 21, 2026, while score reports also provide a comparable 0–120 estimate during the transition.
