IELTS MCP FAQ
Is the IELTS MCP server free?
Yes. It is a public read-only endpoint with no account, API key or usage fee.
Which IELTS data can an agent read?
Public IELTS Writing Task 2 sample answers, Speaking Part 2 cue card topics in English or Chinese, and the four Writing band descriptor criteria with Band 5 to Band 8 summaries.
Does it return the full question bank or AI feedback?
No. It returns up to five public model essays, selected public cue cards and study guidance. The complete question bank, extra band versions, sample answers and AI feedback require a Youshow IELTS account.
Can an agent score my essay or speaking?
No. AI scoring and detailed feedback run inside the Youshow IELTS app and need an account. The MCP endpoint only reads public reference data.
Is the band on a sample essay an official IELTS score?
No. It is the platform's reference level for a model essay. Official IELTS results are awarded by IELTS examiners using the full band descriptors.
Which clients work with it?
Any MCP client that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers, including Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. Point the client at the endpoint URL; there is nothing to install.
